Hey there, I am working on a school animation project which has a 1940s theme to it. I want to use some music by Cab Calloway http://archive.org/details/CabCalloway-61-80, the song Manhattan Jam, as well as http://archive.org/details/CabCalloway-21-30, the song It looks like Susie. I was just wondering whether I am able to use this music if I have it in the credits. I am also hoping to enter it into a animation film festival, but I don't want it to breach any copyright. If I am unable to use it, how would I set out to gain permission? I don't know anyone to contact, especially since Cab Calloway is no longer around.

Finally, if this is not possible to do, could someone please recommend music that sounds similar to these 2 songs that are free to use.
